What You Gain or Risk When Planning Your Vacation with AI Instead of an Agency

Free and instant, AI is appealing: 40% of French travelers used it in 2026 (19% in 2025, 9% in 2024). But it doesn’t organize anything and doesn’t offer the safety net of an agency.

Artificial intelligence makes exploration easier: in a few seconds it suggests itineraries, budgets, ideal seasons, restaurants and day-by-day programs. The time savings and personalization are real.

AI for inspiration, an agency for security

AI excels in the inspiration and comparison phase, but it can be wrong about schedules, recommend a closed venue or underestimate a budget. Above all, it accepts no responsibility if the trip goes off the rails.

What the client actually pays for

An agency provides a chain of protection: financial guarantees, included insurance, assistance in case of an accident, health issue or transport problem. Delphine Camara, deputy director of tour operator Arts et Vie, reminds that “Imagining and organizing a trip are two very different things” and stresses the legal responsibility of agencies.

In case of the unexpected, the agency mobilizes its contacts to reorganize the stay, offer alternatives and possibly a goodwill gesture. AI, on the other hand, has no network, no providers and no contractual obligations and cannot book hard-to-find spots.
